About Hocus Pocus 2 movie (2022)
The 1993 Disney film Hocus Pocus follows the story of three Sanderson sisters (Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy), child-hungry witches who were killed at a 1963 slam and spent 300 years wreaking havoc on Halloween. After We Returned, it is a cultural touchstone and well above the classic, moderately successful on its first release, the home video has now become part of an annual tradition for many families, who share it with their parents in the '90s. shared with the next generation. In a slight retelling of the plot of the first film, "Hocus Pocus 2" follows two current-day Salem teenagers, Becca and Izzy (Whitney Peake and Belissa Escobedo), who accidentally bring the witchy Sanderson sisters to life during their annual Halloween night performance. (The teen's interest in witchcraft and the occult is benign, a very 2022 detail that wouldn't have come out the same way 30 years ago.) High Jinx to stop the witches from kidnapping the city's genial mayor (Tony Hale). Chase as the girl's race and cast an immortality spell that will make them all-powerful, while also making amends with their former friend, the Mayor's daughter, Cassie.
Anne Fletcher ("Step Up," "The Proposal") directs the sequel but follows the same goofy comedic approach as the Kenny Ortega-directed first film—namely, sisters like robot vacuums, Amazon's Alexa, and Walgreens. How do you respond to inventions? Even a few meta-jokes for the popularity of the Sanderson sisters in the world of drag. Thankfully, with the cast rounded out by Doug Jones, Hannah Waddingham and Sam Richardson, the bro-haha isn't entirely focused on the three leads.
